Your school certifies course completion. DBPR approves your state application and authorizes the exam. Pearson administers the separate Florida licensing exam. You need a valid school certificate at the test center.
1. Finish the approved school course
Sales associate candidates ordinarily complete an approved 63-hour Course 1; broker candidates ordinarily complete an approved 72-hour Course 2. Daniel Larson Training’s self-paced courses run through a separate student portal. In the FastPass packages, three exam-style exams provide a streamlined course-certification path while helping you prepare for the state exam. Once you meet the school’s approved completion requirements, keep the certificate it issues.
Your one year of online access to the course bundle is separate from the state’s two-year validity for a completed prelicense course.
2. Get DBPR exam approval
You can submit the licensing application before finishing the prelicense course. Submit fingerprints after applying and work through FastPass while the state reviews your application. Once approved, look for your authorization notice and candidate identification number. DBPR says exam scheduling is generally available within 72 hours of application approval. The notice controls your particular authorization details.

3. Schedule the correct Pearson exam
Pearson’s Florida Real Estate exam page covers both exams. Sign in with your legal name and choose the exam matching the DBPR approval:
Both buttons lead to the same official program page because Pearson selects the exam inside the scheduling flow. Florida candidates take these exams at a physical testing center.
4. Carry your certificate to the test center
Pack these before every exam attempt
- A printed copy of your valid school prelicensing completion certificate. DBPR requires the certificate at the test center every time, including a retake. A photocopy is acceptable when the original was sent to DBPR.
- Two valid forms of signature ID, including one government-issued ID. Your registered legal name must match.
DBPR’s candidate booklets say you cannot take the exam without the course certificate, even if your authorization to test remains valid. Keep a paper copy somewhere you can find it before each appointment.
